Yes. Left and right audio is sent to your system. Its crossover directs low frequencies to the subwoofer. Bass plays an 80 Hz tone through both channels; it is not an independent subwoofer channel.
Turn off mono audio on your device. On a soundbar, select its standard sound mode instead of virtual surround. Check your cables and output selection. This tool cannot automatically verify your speaker wiring.
You can test stereo playback through a connected Bluetooth speaker system. The soundbar receives left and right audio and handles its subwoofer internally. This is not a discrete 5.1 or 7.1 test.
